Members of the Coast Guard must work together to accomplish missions, which means there must be an environment of mutual respect and trust. In order to foster such an environment, the Coast Guard expects proper behavior between seniors and juniors, especially between officers and enlisted personnel. Commissioned officers, including warrant officers, have leadership responsibilities that extend across the service. In its earlier years it was known as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky. Although the A. College was at first a part of Kentucky University now Transylvania University , it was the beginning of what would become the University of Kentucky.
